How will PGE acquire right of way from private landowners?
If the project is approved, PGE will begin negotiations with affected landowners to purchase easements. A PGE real estate agent will work with property owners during the negotiation and acquisition process.
How is the value of an easement determined?
PGE is committed to paying fair market value for easement rights acquired. Offers will be based on independent appraisals. Copies of appraisals will be provided to landowners at the time offers are made.
Can a landowner restrict access over roads associated with a power line that is build across private property?
If the landowner and PGE enter into an easement agreement, then both parties would be obligated to abide by the terms of that agreement. Usually a right of way or easement grants access at any time, unless specifically noted otherwise.
